Slava Ukraini features writers Olesya Khromeychuk, Andrey Kurkov and Serhiy Zhadan, music from Jon Hopkins with Leo Abrahams and musicians from the London Contemporary Orchestra conducted by Robert Ames, and readings by actors Ben Whishaw, Jonathan Pryce, Juliet Stevenson and Maisie Williams, including poetry by Ilya Kaminsky.
The line-up of Ukrainian and British guests attending in person and via live link-up from Ukraine also includes Ukrainian classical musicians Yuriy Yurchuk, Kseniia Nikolaieva, Dinara Klinton, Rozanna Madylus and Stefan Bulyha.
All net proceeds from the event and all further funds raised on the evening will be donated to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC).
DEC brings together the UK’s leading aid charities to respond to humanitarian crises. 13 of DEC’s member charities are working directly, or through their local partners, on the ground in Ukraine and in neighbouring countries to help refugees fleeing the conflict.
