Award-winning composer and cellist Hildur Guðnadóttir takes the stage at Den Norske Opera & Ballett, Oslo, for a very special concert, together with musicians from the Opera Orchestra.

Guðnadóttir has established herself as one of the most innovative and influential composers of our time. With a unique ability to combine the intimate and organic with magnificent emotional power, she has created unforgettable music for film and television – including the Oscar-winning score for Joker and the critically acclaimed series Chernobyl. Her expression moves seamlessly between classical, experimental and cinematic sound art – always with the cello and human intimacy at its center.

In 2026, Guðnadóttir will mark 20 years of artistic output with the launch of a new symphonic program. The concert at the Opera is part of this celebration, offering new orchestral arrangements of some of her most famous works, brand new compositions and selected highlights from her work for film.

The program includes music from the albums  Without Sinking (Mount A),  Mount A,  Saman,  Baer,  ​​Ascent,  Erupting Light and more – in addition to music from the film Joker. The evening also features two brand new commissioned works.

Guðnadóttir plays the cello alongside the Opera Orchestra, with lighting design by Theresa Baumgartner. Robert Ames will conduct.
